This term we did a story for literacy. This is my reflection and story so far. I think I have done well with grammar and punctuation. I also learnt a tip from one of my friends, which is to add a new line whenever a new person speaks.
Story:
Prologue
“Where are my conquesters?” Bellowed king Wepuff the dragon.
“They are coming.” Urged one of the goblins. “We need more time.”
“Very well, then. I’m getting bored. Let’s attack something then. Hmmmmm, I can try to spark a war between the armies of the birds and the empire of the Frogs.” Said Wepuff. “This could be a lot of fun. Heh heh heh…”
Chapter 1: A new quest
“Welcome to me tavern, laddy. I gotta lotta drinks for yah!” Said the very hearty bartender.
“No, thanks.” Said a very startled Hannah. She was there to meet some adventurers. She saw them sitting in a corner, eating a shrimp cocktail. Next to them there was a group of very loud elves.
“Hello, Hannah.” Said Firehaze, who was a Centaur. “Are you ready for adventure?” He said.
“I think so.” Said Hannah.
“Good. We’ll meet you at the docks.” Said Crantour. Crantour was a Human, but he was a werewolf, so not many people liked to be around him, So this was an opportunity for Crantour to prove himself as not a threat. Except on a full moon, when he transferred over to a werewolf.
“Let’s hope the seas are smooth for us, we can’t afford to sink, otherwise we can’t save the islands.”
Chapter 2: All at sea
“This is the Hantolom, which is going to be our vessel for the journey.”
The Hantolom was a small sailing boat, designed to carry 10 crew.
“It’s a bit small, isn’t it?” Said Hannah.
“Not at all.” Said Firehaze. “We’re going to meet a wizard, a knight and our cook here.” He said.
“Who is the cook?” Said Hannah quietly.
“A young boy, named Yarten.” Said Crantour. “And here they come.” Crantour was right, as three figures were walking towards them, one in a suit of armour, one in a wizards hat, and the last one in a farmer’s tunic.
“Hello, there.” Said the wizard. He had a long beard, a wooden staff, and grey robes. “This is Yarten,” He said, pointing at the farm boy. “And here is Sir Drantos,” Said the wizard, “And I am Hawand. Now, let’s set sail.” So they boarded the ship and prepared to set sail for Elephanto.
*
About 1 hour later, they were sailing across the smooth, glassy sea. Hawand was practicing some spells, Yarten was in the lookout’s position, Sir Drantos was swinging his sword, pretending to slice at enemies. Very soon, night fell upon them. The stars shone brightly, and the waves were calm, as though they were sleeping. Yarten had cooked a cardamom soup, which was tasty, and after that they went to sleep.
Chapter 3: The dark seas
The next morning they woke up to see the dark stormy black clouds approaching the vessel.
“We’re about to enter the dark seas.” Said Hawand.
“The dark seas?” Asked Hannah.
“Yes, the dark seas. They are very dangerous, as they are full of sea monsters.” Said Hawand.
“I’ll be ready to fight those nasty bucket-heads!” Yelled Sir Drantos. Almost in an instant, it started to rain. The thunder boomed loudly above them, as they desperately tried to prepare themselves for the storm. BOOM! Lightning cracked over head.
“PULL UP THE SAILS!” Yelled Crantour.
“HERE COMES THE WINDS!” Screamed Hannah. They Hurried below decks to hide from the weather after they had pulled up the sails. Not long after they had gone below deck they heard a growl coming from outside. They slowly went on decks to find that a sea monster was attacking their ship.
“CROAWL!” Screeched the monster.
“YOU NASTY COWARDLY PIG BRAIN! YOU’LL NEVER MAKE A KNIGHT!” Yelled Sir Drantos. He was obviously enjoying this.
“TO SLOW, YOU SEA-POO!” He yelled. In minutes of fighting, the adventurers were getting tired. But then, out of nowhere, 5 merpeople jumped out of the water.
