Cantamaths

This term we have been doing cantamaths instead of normal maths. My project was to find the biggest, Heaviest Snake in the world. So I put together a little presentation which shows a few of the world’s snake species. It has taken me a while but it is complete. I learnt that Constrictor snakes are some of the heaviest snakes in the world. I have shown resilience by pressing on to try and find some of the weights, and success by completing the work I started. Here is the link to my work. I hope you enjoy it! Measurement of snakes

Emotions

Today for circle time we looked at emotions. We learned that normal emotions can be broken into multiple different emotions. We also learnt that you can have more than one feeling at one time. It also helps to talk to people about your emotions.

Week 7

On monday we did passions. I did a campaign based game where you have an island and you advance and get better stuff. I choose to be a cold nation in the arctic circle.

On Tuesday we did limericks. Here is my limerick.

There once was a man named Phill,

Who used to live in the mill.

He liked to go to the shops,

So he could yell at the cops.

Oh, quite a man was Phill.

Today we have a normal kind of day. With winter sports canceled, we are probably going to have a bit of dodgeball at the end of the day. And that’s all I’ve been at for this week.

The rise value I showed this week was success because I completed most of my tasks. I also showed resilience by keeping on going even though some of the work I was set was a bit hard.

Week 3 Reflection

This week has felt very long. I think I have improved in angles for maths. I also have helped run loose parts shed for choice and challenge, which was very fun. I did Digi-tech for tech. We coded an escape room. That’s all that happened this week.

1916 timeline

This week we have been making timelines to do with WWI. My timeline is about battles from 1916 (and 1915 if you count the evacuation of Gallipoli). My timeline has 5 major events. Enjoy.

Story reflection

This term we did a story for literacy. This is my reflection and story so far. I think I have done well with grammar and punctuation. I also learnt a tip from one of my friends, which is to add a new line whenever a new person speaks.

Story:

Prologue

“Where are my conquesters?” Bellowed king Wepuff the dragon.

“They are coming.” Urged one of the goblins. “We need more time.”

“Very well, then. I’m getting bored. Let’s attack something then. Hmmmmm, I can try to spark a war between the armies of the birds and the empire of the Frogs.” Said Wepuff. “This could be a lot of fun. Heh heh heh…”

Chapter 1: A new quest

“Welcome to me tavern, laddy. I gotta lotta drinks for yah!” Said the very hearty bartender.

“No, thanks.” Said a very startled Hannah. She was there to meet some adventurers. She saw them sitting in a corner, eating a shrimp cocktail. Next to them there was a group of very loud elves.

“Hello, Hannah.” Said Firehaze, who was a Centaur. “Are you ready for adventure?” He said.

“I think so.” Said Hannah.

“Good. We’ll meet you at the docks.” Said Crantour. Crantour was a Human, but he was a werewolf, so not many people liked to be around him, So this was an opportunity for Crantour to prove himself as not a threat. Except on a full moon, when he transferred over to a werewolf.

“Let’s hope the seas are smooth for us, we can’t afford to sink, otherwise we can’t save the islands.”

Chapter 2: All at sea

“This is the Hantolom, which is going to be our vessel for the journey.”

The Hantolom was a small sailing boat, designed to carry 10 crew.

“It’s a bit small, isn’t it?” Said Hannah.

“Not at all.” Said Firehaze. “We’re going to meet a wizard, a knight and our cook here.” He said.

“Who is the cook?” Said Hannah quietly.

“A young boy, named Yarten.” Said Crantour. “And here they come.” Crantour was right, as three figures were walking towards them, one in a suit of armour, one in a wizards hat, and the last one in a farmer’s tunic.

“Hello, there.” Said the wizard. He had a long beard, a wooden staff, and grey robes. “This is Yarten,” He said, pointing at the farm boy. “And here is Sir Drantos,” Said the wizard, “And I am Hawand. Now, let’s set sail.” So they boarded the ship and prepared to set sail for Elephanto.

                                                             *

About 1 hour later, they were sailing across the smooth, glassy sea. Hawand was practicing some spells, Yarten was in the lookout’s position, Sir Drantos was swinging his sword, pretending to slice at enemies. Very soon, night fell upon them. The stars shone brightly, and the waves were calm, as though they were sleeping. Yarten had cooked a cardamom soup, which was tasty, and after that they went to sleep.

Chapter 3: The dark seas

The next morning they woke up to see the dark stormy black clouds approaching the vessel.

“We’re about to enter the dark seas.” Said Hawand.

“The dark seas?” Asked Hannah.

“Yes, the dark seas. They are very dangerous, as they are full of sea monsters.” Said Hawand.

“I’ll be ready to fight those nasty bucket-heads!” Yelled Sir Drantos. Almost in an instant, it started to rain. The thunder boomed loudly above them, as they desperately tried to prepare themselves for the storm. BOOM! Lightning cracked over head.

“PULL UP THE SAILS!” Yelled Crantour.

“HERE COMES THE WINDS!” Screamed Hannah. They Hurried below decks to hide from the weather after they had pulled up the sails. Not long after they had gone below deck they heard a growl coming from outside. They slowly went on decks to find that a sea monster was attacking their ship.

“CROAWL!” Screeched the monster.

“YOU NASTY COWARDLY PIG BRAIN! YOU’LL NEVER MAKE A KNIGHT!” Yelled Sir Drantos. He was obviously enjoying this.

“TO SLOW, YOU SEA-POO!” He yelled. In minutes of fighting, the adventurers were getting tired. But then, out of nowhere, 5 merpeople jumped out of the water.

Leadership

This term we have been looking at leadership. Last week we played a game called robot doge ball. There were 4 rolls: the robot, which was the person who could through the dodge ball, the controller was the person who gave the robot commands,  the visualiser was the person who had to make mime movements to tell the controller what to do and the assistant, who took count of the robots score. I think it was a fun game. It showed leadership because everyone had to listen to someone.

Action stations

For the past 3 weeks we have been doing action stations. I did school monster attack. On week 1, we drew our monsters. I drew a monster based on a Welsh dragon and a flying monster. Next week we took pictures of us running from the monsters and removed the background of our monsters. This week we have put our monsters in a google drawing with a picture of our school with kids running away from our monsters. I enjoyed the drawing process. My picture is down here ⬇

Week 6

This week was fun. For maths we are now learning the 8 times tables. I found it challenging. I’m doing well at the moment, but I still don’t know them all. For tech this week we did fabrics. We made our handles and chose our inner layers for our bags. I’m enjoying the making of my bag. Next week for tech we are doing more work on our bags like assembling it. For inquiry we looked at festivals and what they mean to different cultures. I made a poster for one of them. That’s all that happened this week.

Week 5 reflection

This week has been very normal. Next week I hope that I can improve my swimming and maths. I feel proud of myself because I just learnt my 7 times tables. I found that learning the 7 times tables is quite hard. I hope to learn the 8 and 9 times tables next week. We went to tech on Thursday and I did fabrics. I made a design  for my bag. Next week we are making handles for our bags.
